Ranison Ice Cream & Candy

I miss this little shop so much, I used to walk here every weekend with my mom when I was a little girl 15 years ago. Now living a few hours away I want to take the trip just for this shop. The staff were always very generous from what I remember. If Ranison’s stays in business id love to take my future kids here The gummies, chocolates and especially the Blue Moon ice cream are my favorites. Maybe one day I’ll be able to visit again

Excellent service. Maybe 8 to 10 flavors of ice cream to choose from, and lots of candy choices.

Did not disappoint! Sampled SEVERAL flavors before landing on cappuccino for the Mrs. and for me, strawberry + grapenut (and it won gold medal tonight)! Clutch performance on the ice cream stage from this fierce little competitor in a non-assuming, quiet neighborhood on a side street away from the hub and buzz of downtown La Crosse!

I love this place this place is awesome this is like a place that you can go on a time machine and go back into the past the prices of excellent and it brings me back to my childhood on things they have here at this place highly recommend people who go here plus there's a nice spot outside as you can cool down at as well

I’ve been going here for 35 years so it’s hard to leave a review that does this justice. They are a great candy shop and have a wide selection including nostalgic candies. They make the best chocolate turtles that we have had anywhere. Still love coming here when I’m in town. Now I bring my kids

LOVED this cute little ice cream shop! Amazingly delicious homemade ice cream, shakes, mixers, etc plus huge selection of interesting vintage candy & drinks. This is a local spot for sure! Glad our La Crosse friends told us about this little gem!

I had a great experience here! The tall kid serving ice cream was extremely nice and friendly. He went above and beyond by giving me some free candy and even taking the time to show me where they make the ice cream. He made the visit really fun and welcoming. The ice cream was great, but the customer service made it even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great ice cream and awesome service!

Day I and day out, this is the best ice cream shop. It is a tiny store in a neighborhood. It is not flashy, but that is what makes it great. It feels old and historic. They have plenty of ice cream flavors to choose from. The portions and prices are fair. The employees are always nice. The candy and chocolates are fine. Seating is limited to outside.
